Yuri VoronovGraphic artist, painter
Born in 1956 in Vologda

This artist creates his works using technique of oil-paint, tempera, acrylic paint; in the genres of narrative-topical painting, portrait, landscape, still life. At the start of his creative development, Yuri Voronov devoted much attention to easel painting and book graphics, practised linoleum engraving, lithography, creating beautiful subtle landscapes, portraits, still life paintings, book illustrations. Works of the artist are owned by art galleries, reserve museums, local lore museums, private collections in Russia and abroad.

He is characterized by remarkable wideness of vision of the world, in specific motifs of nature he reaches somewhat planetary feeling of genesis, life realities are transformed by his brush into multi-association images which stimulate fantasy of the spectator, possess particular spirituality and the feeling of communicating with magic mystery of the essence of creativity. In Voronov’s works, real and imaginary coexist organically, enriching our perceptions about ephemeral, momentary and everlasting.

1971-1975 Yaroslavl art school
1975-1991 Moscow State Arts Institute named after Surikov
Since 1977: permanent participant of exhibitions
1983 member of Artists Union of the USSR
1985-1987 scholarship holder of Artists Union of the USSR
1988 winner of Yashin award in the sphere of culture, Vologda region
Since 1981: participant of numerous exhibitions in Russia and in many other countries

Honored Artist of Russia since 2003
