Oleg Kosachev was born near Moscow on October 2, 1965. In 1986, while studying at the Moscow M. I. Kalinin School of Arts, he joined the Arbat Association of Creative Intellectuals, worked at the openings of exhibitions, while searching for his own artistic manner and trying himself in various painting genres.
In 1988, Oleg graduated from the Painting Department of the Kalinin school. From 1989 till 1990, he worked on his Moscow City Landscapes series. In 1990, the artist was invited to work abroad where his nostalgic Old Arbat series was completed. In 1993 he became a member of the UNESCO International Federation of Painters and Graphic Artists.
Oleg works a lot on location, reflecting the slightest color nuances of various seasons, glorifying the beauty of life in a giant city. Being in full command of colors, he expresses his what is called Weltanschauung with them. He uses the rich possibilities afforded to him by his art, masterfully varying now close and then contrasting colors, attaining a special exquisiteness and harmony in his landscapes.
The beauty and originality of his manner made Oleg very popular among collectors in Russia, the USA, Japan, Turkey and France. |
