Kathy Metcalf

Kathy Metcalf's art encompasses styles that are a bit abstract, a bit contemporary, a bit bold, but always a reflection of "Kathy". "I like color. I like texture. I like movement. I like the fact that I can transform the ideas in my head to pigment and texture and flow on my canvas.... With the dawn of the 21st century came the awakening of my need to paint. Since then, I've grown in more ways than I can imagine and a true sense of joy/peace/tranquility/creativity and just plain "fun" has taken over my life as an artist. I've also discovered that art can be a catharsis for the soul and with color, texture and movement in my paintings, I can express the mood of the moment...that's the fun part of painting. There is also pride that comes with being an artist. I'm proud of the pieces I've created and I enjoy sharing my art with friends, family and strangers."
